HTMLAnchorElement.hostname

The HTMLAnchorElement.hostname property is a USVString containing the domain of the URL.

Syntax

// Getter
string = anchor.hostname;
// Setter
anchor.hostname = string;

Examples

// An <a id="myAnchor" href="/en-US/docs/HTMLAnchorElement"> element is in the document
const anchor = document.getElementById("myAnchor");
anchor.hostname; // returns 'developer.mozilla.org'
