This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since July 2015.

The drag event is fired repeatedly as an element or text selection is being dragged by the user. The firing frequency depends on the browser, operating system, and pointer movement; do not rely on a fixed interval.

The drag event can continue to fire while the pointer is stationary, and can fire more frequently while it is moving. Do not rely on a fixed interval or expect an event for every pointer movement. The HTML specification uses a firing frequency of roughly 350 ms (±200 ms). In practice, browsers use native drag updates and platform-specific timers to dispatch these events, so this interval does not describe all browser behavior.

This event is cancelable and may bubble up to the Document and Window objects.

Use the event name in methods like addEventListener(), or set an event handler property.
