VisualViewport: scroll event

This feature is well established and works across many devices and browser versions. It’s been available across browsers since August 2021.

The scroll event of the VisualViewport interface is fired when the visual viewport is scrolled.

Syntax

Use the event name in methods like addEventListener(), or set an event handler property.

addEventListener("scroll", (event) => {});

onscroll = (event) => {};

Event type

A generic Event.

Examples

You can use the scroll event in an addEventListener() method:

visualViewport.addEventListener("scroll", () => {
  // …
});

Or use the onscroll event handler property:

js
visualViewport.onscroll = () => {
  // …
};
