URLPattern: hostname property

Experimental: This is an experimental technology
Check the Browser compatibility table carefully before using this in production.

Note: This feature is available in Web Workers.

The hostname read-only property of the URLPattern interface is a string containing the pattern used to match the hostname part of a URL. This value may differ from the input to the constructor due to normalization.

A string.

The below example creates a URLPattern object with *.example.org for the hostname part. This pattern matches any hostname that is a direct subdomain of example.org.

const pattern = new URLPattern("https://*.example.org");
console.log(pattern.hostname); // '*.example.org'
