SIMD.js has been taken out of active development in TC39 and removed from Stage 3. It is not being pursued by web browsers for implementation anymore. SIMD operations exposed to the web are under active development within WebAssembly, with operations based on the SIMD.js operations.

The static SIMD.%type%.swizzle() method creates a new SIMD data type instance with the lane values swizzled (re-ordered).

SIMD.Float32x4.swizzle(t, s0, s1, s2, s3)
SIMD.Float64x2.swizzle(t, s0, s1)

SIMD.Int16x8.swizzle(t, s0, s1, s2, s3, s4, s5, s6, s7)
SIMD.Int32x4.swizzle(t, s0, s1, s2, s3)

SIMD.Uint16x8.swizzle(t, s0, s1, s2, s3, s4, s5, s6, s7)
SIMD.Uint32x4.swizzle(t, s0, s1, s2, s3)

An instance of a SIMD type to be swizzled / re-ordered.
index in t for lanes s0-s15.

Return value

A new SIMD data type with the lane values swizzled (re-ordered).

The static SIMD.%type%.swizzle() method can be used to re-order a SIMD data type.

Swizzling a Float32x4

var t = SIMD.Float32x4(1, 2, 3, 4);

SIMD.Float32x4.swizzle(t, 1, 2, 0, 3);
// Float32x4[2,3,1,4]

Specification Status Comment
The definition of 'SIMD.swizzle' in that specification.
Obsolete Initial definition.

Browser compatibility

Experimental SIMD.js has been removed from browsers. It's still available in Firefox Nightly, but will be removed in favor of a SIMD implementation in WebAssembly. See also bug 1416723.
