The spec has NOT changed. The spec has always followed the OpenGL ES 2.0 / 3.0 spec both of which have always explicitly stated min = 1, max = 1 is valid for WebGL

Adding 2D content to a WebGL context


revert the last change. WebGL does not compute colors in SPACE. It computes colors in 2D. The only thing it can do is insert values (usually colors) into a 2D piece of memory.

Getting started with WebGL


There is no browser in existence in 2017 that doesn't support canvas. Filling the article with HTML trivia only serves to confuse new users
