SIMD.%type%.sqrt()

SIMD.js has been taken out of active development in TC39 and removed from Stage 3. It is not being pursued by web browsers for implementation anymore. SIMD operations exposed to the web are under active development within WebAssembly, with operations based on the SIMD.js operations.

The static SIMD.%type%.sqrt() method returns a new instance with the square root of the lane values (see also Math.sqrt() for the same scalar function).

Syntax

SIMD.Float32x4.sqrt(t)
SIMD.Float64x2.sqrt(t)

Parameters

t
An instance of a corresponding SIMD type.

Return value

A new corresponding SIMD data type with square root values.

Examples

var a = SIMD.Float32x4(9, 49, 3, 2);
SIMD.Float32x4.sqrt(a);
// Float32x4[3, 7, 1.7320507764816284, 1.4142135381698608]

var b = SIMD.Float64x2(4, 8);
SIMD.Float64x2.sqrt(b);
// Float64x2[2, 2.8284271247461903]
