Summary

<acronym>...</acronym> (Acronym) element allows authors to clearly indicate a sequence of characters that compose an acronym or abbreviation for a word.

Example

The <acronym title="World Wide Web">WWW</acronym> is only one component of the Internet.

Notes

The purpose of this tag is purely for the convenience of the author. However by default, Opera and Mozilla will add a dotted underline to the acronym when the page is rendered unless stylesheets that contain provisions otherwise.
