Summary

In Mozilla applications, -moz-background-clip specifies whether the background, color or image, should extend behind the border of the element:

  • Initial value: border
  • Applies to: all elements
  • Inherited: no

-moz-background-clip is similar to the standard CSS 3 {{template.Cssxref("background-clip")}} property, but {{template.Cssxref("background-clip")}} is currently not supported. For now, use -moz-background-clip.

Syntax

-moz-background-clip: border | padding

Values

border
The background extends to the edge of the border, behind the border.
padding
The background stops at the edge of the padding and does not go into the border.

Examples

hbox.example {
  border: 10px double #000000;
  background-color: #00FF00;
  -moz-background-clip: padding; /* The background will not go behind the border */
}
