Summary

The animation-name CSS property specifies a list of animations that should be applied to the selected element. Each name indicates a {{ cssxref("@keyframes") }} at-rule that defines the property values for the animation sequence.

It is often convenient to use the shorthand property {{ cssxref("animation") }} to set all animation properties at once.

  • {{ xref_cssinitial() }}: none
  • Applies to: all elements, and {{ cssxref("::before") }} and {{ cssxref("::after") }} pseudo-elements
  • {{ xref_cssinherited() }}: no
  • Media: {{ Xref_cssvisual() }}
  • {{ xref_csscomputed() }}: as specified

Syntax

animation-name: none | <name> [, none | <name>]*

Values

<name>
A string identifying the animation.

Examples

See CSS animations for examples.
