Creating Applications with Mozilla

We should really be evangelizing a more up to date reference to XUL than "Creating Applications with Mozilla" - maybe Rapid Application Development with Mozilla instead? User:Ben

Looks like none of the books is advertised on the page anymore. --Nickolay 09:48, 23 February 2007 (PST)

XUL features and limitation

I am planning to use XUL , I tried a simple implementation and realized that there is not a straight forward way to submit the form data to the business logic and then to the database.

It would be very helpful if we know the limitations of XUL, and what can be accomplished without a hack before we begin to use XUL in serious application development.

It's very frustrating to get excited first and try to implement stuff in XUL and then realize that , I cant submit form data to the database.

And I couldnt find any articles on what XUL is best suited for, what it can and cannot do and what are the plans for the future.

If anyone knows about these things please share.

{{template.Unsigned("Appy77", "18 February 2006")}}

This does sound like information, which should be in an article linked directly from the XUL page. However, if you need an answer to your question, you should ask in the forums listed under the Community section instead. --Nickolay 09:48, 23 February 2007 (PST)

XUL 1.0 specification

Likely outdated and incomplete XUL 1.0 specification is here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xul/xul.html , linked mainly for historical purposes. --Nickolay 09:48, 23 February 2007 (PST)
