Is it necessary to use:
Engineer.prototype.specialty = "code";
or can you just use
Engineer.specialty = "code"; since Engineer is a "child" object (ie it is not used as a prototype for any subsequent objects)?

- Well if I am not too tired to answer this... ;-) Assume you would in the future want to make all "Mechanical" engineers subsets of that Engineer object, since Mechanical covers a wide range of skillsets. If you do not use the prototype form, you are merely adding yourself a lot more work in the future. (Keep in mind I am not an expert on this and my tiredness may contribute to any inaccuracies in my response to this) --Callek 22:10, 16 December 2005 (PST)
