What is the Mozilla Developer Center?

The Mozilla Developer Center (MDC) supports the growth and development of Firefox and the web by providing comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date documentation and news about Firefox, Mozilla, and web development technologies.

Our primary audiences are:

  • Web developers -- People who create the myriad sites and content for the web.
  • Firefox extension and XUL application developers
  • Mozilla contributors -- The "loose band of freewheeling computer programmers from around the world" who create the Mozilla technologies at the foundation of all of this.

What is the future of the Mozilla Developer Center?

The Mozilla Developer Center is positioned to take a leadership role in providing a valuable and community-driven resource for web development. We've build the foundation now for a comprehensive, usable, accurate, and valuable resource that developers will use on a daily basis.

If you have any ideas about what this project could become (or how to get there), please come join the fun.

I've found a bug on the site, what do I do about it?

If you have found a problem with anything related to this site (website, stylesheet, documentation, processes, etc.) that you aren't able to fix yourself, please send a note to our mailing list.

How do I monitor pages for changes?

There are three ways you can watch for changes to pages, all of which involve RSS feeds.  To access the feeds, choose the "RSS feeds" option in the "Site tools" drop-down menu at the top of the page.  This will present you with a list of RSS feeds you can subscribe to.

If you want to be notified every time any page on the site is edited, you can subscribe to the "What's new?" feed.  If you only want to be notified when specific pages that interest you are edited, subscribe to the "My watchlist" feed.  You can also subscribe to feeds to watch changes made by specific users.

Once you're watching your watchlist feed, you need to add articles to your watchlist.  To do this, navigate to an article and choose the "Watch this page" option from the "More options" drop-down menu immediately below the site's heading banner.  After that, you will receive notifications in your RSS feed reader when that page is changed.
