What is Devmo?

A: Devmo, short for "DEVeloper.Mozilla.Org" is a project dedicated to providing documentation, education, and community for developers of all types.

Our primary audiences are:

  • Web Developers -- People who create the myriad sites and content for the World Wide Web.
  • Mozilla Extension and Application Developers -- People who develop extensions for Firefox and Thunderbird, and applications using Mozilla technologies.
  • Mozilla Contributors -- The "loose band of freewheeling computer programmers from around the world" who create the Mozilla technologies at the foundation of all of this.

What is the future of Devmo?

A: At the moment, Devmo is little more than a wiki and a dream, but the dream is an expansive one. In the short-term, we are hoping to add a number of facilities to the project site, including a front-page news weblog and more community structure and support (mailing lists & newsgroups, forums, etc.).

The long-term vision for Devmo is currently undefined, only that it become an comprehensive, usable, accurate, and valuable resource that developers will use on a daily basis.

If you have any ideas about what this project could become (or how to get there), please come join the fun.

I've found a bug in the [something] what do I do about it?

If you have found a problem with anything related to Devmo that you aren't able to fix yourself, please send an email to devmo-general@mozilla.org. Someone on that list should be able to take care of whatever the problem is.

If you would like to subscribe to that list, you can do so over here.
