About the XSLT/XPath reference

Please note the new conventions for page naming for XSLT/XPath reference. It's "XSLT:(element)" for XSLT elements, "XPath:(Axes|Functions):(name)" for XPath stuff. Looks like I didn't update all of the pages that contain the names, and the two pages you added were already migrated, sorry about that.

Please redirect your pages to existing ones (XSLT:element and XSLT:decimal-format), I didn't do that for you because the existing pages and the pages you migrated weren't exactly the same. Please follow the new naming scheme from now on.

Also, we would like the pages of the reference have similar look, so please take a look at one of existing pages. Notice the use of XsltRef template, the __TOC__ right after it, and the fact that we try to use "Gecko" instead of "Netscape" (or "NS") when refering to the XSLT/XPath engine. --Nickolay 00:26, 23 Aug 2005 (PDT)

(re User talk:Nickolay#XSLT reference) I made those pages redirect to real ones. It's done by putting #redirect [[Page name]] on the page.
Thanks for your help, and yes, a big chunk of the reference was already migrated by CitizenK. --Nickolay 12:21, 23 Aug 2005 (PDT)

XPATH

on XPath:Functions:substring, there is something wrong, the Syntax does not make sense. I know nothing about XPATH to be elligible to correct it. Also similar areas by you, I have seen (none) for example in a Notes section. If there is no data to enter, please do not include the section. Also, "Returns" "a Number"/"a String" etc. Please tell what the number is/what the string is; just because it is a number does not tell me it must be positive, it defines the string length, etc. for all I know it could be a number where, if positive indicates that the string HAS a length. etc. --Callek 23:09, 19 September 2005 (PDT)

Also see [[XPath:Functions:substring-before talks about "after". I would advise a once-over of all the XPATH pages by you. --Callek
A question mark denotes an optional parameter. That notation was borrowed directly from the W3C XPath documentation. I changed all the syntax blocks to use square brackets for optional parameters. Jonnyq
Well first let me say thanks again for doing the work for this. Secondly, I was not so-much questioning the question-mark syntax (I've seen many different syntax forms, and understand them), I do not mind them how they were. But before you go changing much more based on my suggestions alone, I would ask you give me the time to read through your changes ;-) (I'm leaving for work in a few minutes). The biggest issue was mis-named functions on some pages, (probably due to mistakes in copy/paste, as in forgetting to change part of it, etc. --Callek 11:16, 21 September 2005 (PDT)
