Talk:Midas

From MDC

It's my intention for this to be at Midas, and possibly a replacement for Rich-Text Editing in Mozilla

I'm still not sure whether the properties and method should be at Midas:designMode, Midas:document.designMode or DOM:document.designMode. The properties and methods are such of the document object, but I want the breadcrumbs to lead back here.

See bug 177700#18

It is NOT OK to use "Midas" in identifiers even if they are only internal. When the Midas project is long over and done with, no-one will know what the heck it means. It's just one more code word that people hacking on Gecko will have to learn and remember. Would it have killed you to use "ContentEditor" or something?

So I think it's important not to use the term midas, but the term designMode as that's a term that more people will know since IE also uses it.

DOM:... is a better form (imho), I do not see why the breadcrumbs should lead anywhere but document though, if the property/method is part of document, whoever I do Not see a reason why we cant have a link back here from such a page.
