The <div id="offsetContainer" block is rendered as expected, as intended in MSIE 6 now<gasp>. But now, the <div id="offsetContainer" block is NOT rendered as expected, as intended in Opera 8.02. So, I decided to leave things as they are because

  • a) Opera dev. people have much better chances to fix abs. pos. bugs than MSIE and also
  • b) unfortunately there are much many people using MSIE 6 than Opera 7+.
