Gran Paradiso Alpha 5 available for download

Gran Paradiso Alpha 5 is an early developer milestone for Firefox 3 and the next generation of Mozilla’s layout engine, Gecko 1.9.
Gran Paradiso Alpha 5 is being made available for testing purposes only, and is intended for web application developers and our testing community. Current users of Mozilla Firefox should not use alpha releases. Some of the changes included with Gran Paradiso Alpha 5 are:

  • Bookmarks portion of Places has been enabled
  • New crash reporting system, Breakpad. It’s enabled by default on Mac OS X, on about 50% of Windows installations, and not yet available on Linux. You can also view crash reports at this site.
  • New Javascript-based Password Manager. More details available here.
  • Support for Growl notification under Mac OS X
  • Support for native controls on Mac OS X
  • Miscellaneous Gecko 1.9 bug fixes

Gran Paradiso Alpha 5 is available for the following platforms:

Microsoft Windows 2000 or later
MacOS X 10.3.9 or later
Linux
