Firefox Extension Versioning
Firefox 1.5.0.1 will be released soon. Extension authors, remember to mark your extension maxVersion as ‘1.5.0.*’ to indicate that your extension is compatible with Firefox 1.5.0.1 and future stability releases. If the extension maxVersion is set only to ‘1.5′, the stability releases will cause the extension to be disabled.
Firefox and Thunderbird 1.5 will be API-compatible with Firefox 1.5, therefore extension authors should assume that their extension is compatible with the latest security and stability release. If you have tested your extension and it works with Firefox 1.5 but not the release candidate of Firefox 1.5.0.1 please file a bug in Bugzilla, identify what changed in Firefox 1.5.0.1 that caused the extension incompatibility, and mark the “blocking1.8.0.1?” flag.
