We have made excellent progress on the 1.8 branch since we announced the delay last Tuesday (over 55 bugs fixed!). Here is how you can help:

If you have any bugs assigned to you on either of the blocker lists (i.e. nominated or set as “blocking1.8b4″ or “blocking-aviary1.5″) please update these with an ETA for final delivery and a note on the Status Whiteboard as to whether it should block the branch. i.e.:

[1.8 Branch ETA 8/5]
or
[ETA 8/5]

This will let us more accurately schedule the branch and figure out how to deploy extra help. We are tracking the branch blockers as dependent on bug 300860, so if your bug should block the branch, please ensure that it is added to this tracking bug today.

If you don’t have any blocking bugs on your plate and can help knock down this list please jump in.

Given what we know so far we are estimating a branch the week of August 8 - but this is just a guestimate until we get an ETA from all the developers on the blocker list. If you have any questions please as always feel free to ping drivers at mozilla.org.
