Update: Delay of the 1.8 Branch
Further to our previous announcement, we’re continuing to work through evaluating where we’re at –in terms of meeting our branch criteria– and we’ll have an updated target date posted shortly.

It’s now clear that we’re *not* going to meet our criteria to branch for Gecko 1.8 by 11:59pm pdt on Tuesday, July 26th 2005.
Our original criteria included:
• Deer Park and Thunderbird 1.5 being “Feature Complete” and “String Complete”
• All l10n and build system dependencies resolved
• All major UI work completed
